What if you could use your passion and your influence to make a difference? Would you take that chance? 4Outdoors is Favre's grassroots effort to get people connected with the outdoors. And it all started with one little idea: get out there.

Why this matters

Favre shares his mission and how it began

When I was a kid, my dad made sure I spent time outside. More than sports, more than football or baseball, he wanted us to know the outdoors like the back of our hand. And in the outdoors, we got to know each other better. It was like nature helped us connect as people. Even though sports became the focus as I grew up, what I loved to do in my spare time was hunt, fish, and just be in the woods. Something about that feeling of quiet and being connected with nature made me feel like I was part of something bigger.

Now that I'm retired from professional football, I spend most of my time outside. I live and breathe the outdoors, which got me thinking: everyone needs simple but profound outdoors experiences like the ones I've been blessed to have.

I've always considered it a great privilege to use my influence to help others. After all, if we aren't using our resources for good, then what are we doing? 4Outdoors is a platform where I can share my passion for the outdoors with people and organizations who otherwise may not have the opportunity to engage with the outdoors in a meaningful way. I want people to connect just like my dad and brother and I did out in the woods all those years ago. The outdoors are waiting. They always have been. All we have to do is get out there.
